We all know when a virus naturally mutates it gets less strong, the covid-19 virus has already multiple times mutated, it should not be a problem anymore, right?

Why more people dying now then in 2020 when we had the strongest covid-19 virus and was called a pandemic without a covid-19 vaccine?
